European Court of Justice |
This is the supreme court of the European Union where complex and sometimes nonsensical employment claims can end up. Sometimes known by cynics as the European Convention of Jokers, not all that emanates out of Europe is widely respected by all the UK public. In 2005 the Alabaster case that had been fought for 6 or more years was eventually decided, and after presumably tens of thousands of pounds (as a conservative guesstimate) being spent in legal fees, the employee was awarded the princely sum of £204.53. We're sure the effort was worth it!
