Injury To Feelings
Rumour has it that if you cry loads at tribunal, you will get a bigger injury to feelings payment. Myth or fact? Let us know your thoughts!

An Employment Tribunal may make an award for injury to feelings where it finds unlawful discrimination. The size of the award is largely in the ET's discretion although there is a banding structure in place for guidance. It is not unusual for awards to be in the region of £5K+ but we have seen tiny awards amounting to just a few hundred pounds and also massive awards of many thousands of pounds.

No injury to feelings payments are payable in successful unfair dismissal claims.
