Negotiation for Staff Representatives

This course aims to build the confidence and skill set of Staff Representatives who may as part of their role be required to take part in internal negotiations within the business.

It will give representatives an understanding of the framework for negotiating successfully, allow them to consider all relevant facts that affect negotiation and how to plan for meetings in such a way to allow them to attend with confidence.

Core skills covered include:

  • Knowing how to prepare for and plan a negotiation
  • Identifying which type of negotiation style is required in a particular situation
  • Understanding and tackling the feelings associated with negotiation
  • The importance of presenting yourself, not just your case well
  • The differences between hard bargaining and relationship based negotiation
  • Forming effective questions
  • Body language to control discussions

 

The course will be tailored specifically to meet your organisational goals, and can be delivered using any of the following training methods:
