Use of Actors

aJaluch is very excited to offer its clients the opportunity to use trained actors, taking role play one step closer to the realities of the workplace – and providing a unique and memorable active learning experience!

Experience shows us that by using actors in role plays, delegates reach a higher level of soft skills development than they would if they were practising between themselves. By having actors involved in the learning, it creates a realistic interpretation of a scenario, whilst allowing individuals to make mistakes without repercussions. It is highly interactive and it allows a situation to be explored at a greater depth.

Actors can be used in:

  • Recruitment and assessment centres
  • Interviewing practice
  • Any form of customer service training or client interaction
  • Business development and sales training
  • HR training i.e. handling disciplinaries and grievances, redundancies or appraisals
  • Leadership and management development training

How it works:

Jaluch will provide strong character actors with improvisational skills, who have been fully briefed on the role and have had time to prepare and rehearse. We recommend that you give us as much information about the situation to ensure that the role play is as beneficial as possible and work with us, if necessary, to come up with specific scenarios for the actor to ensure that the role play is realistic and relevant.

We will run the role play with your staff members. One-to-ones are most effective, however if this is not possible keeping groups to a minimum is ideal and we would have a maximum of 6 in a group. Once the role play is finished, the actor, staff member and facilitator would go through feedback based on technique and the softer skills.

Actors are able to take feedback one step further by explaining how they actually feel about the situation and so enabling the employee to see the situation from the other’s perspective.
